Ultimate Staffing Recognized for Second Consecutive Year with Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness

September 8, 2014 – Ultimate Staffing Services, a specialized business line of Roth Staffing Companies, earned the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility for the second consecutive year.  The Sloan Award specifically recognized the Portland, Oregon branch of Ultimate Staffing in its statewide Oregon awards program.

The honor is awarded by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Families and Work Institute (FWI)’s When Work Works project in order to highlight organizations of all sizes and types around the country that strategically implement programs and processes to increase flexibility, employee engagement, and success.

“The When Work Works Award recognizes organizations that foster a culture of workplace flexibility and effectiveness, which gives them a competitive advantage. Their practices set them apart from other organizations,” said Lisa Horn, director of SHRM’s Workplace Flexibility Initiative.

“These employers are making work work in innovative and inspiring ways and set an example for employers both nationally and internationally,” added Ellen Galinsky, president of Families and Work Institute.

When Work Works is a research-based initiative aimed at highlighting how effective and flexible workplaces can spur positive business results and help employees establish successful work-life practices.  Worksites must first qualify in the top 20% of the country based on a nationally representative sample of employers.  All participating workplaces complete a comprehensive employee survey and are evaluated on six research-based ingredients of an effective workplace such as a culture of trust and supervisor support for work success, and a handful earn the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Excellence in Workplace Effectiveness and Flexibility.
